Job Summary

Acting as client service point person within the Marketing and Communications department, the Marketing and Social Media Associate ensures efficient and effective planning, development, and execution of specific projects for multiple portfolios
with internal clients. Assists the Marketing and Communications Manager in the development of the marketing strategy and positioning of Ometz in social media on multiple platforms, and is responsible for developing relevant and creative content for digital channels.

Duties

• Handle multiple marketing projects by analyzing, planning and assigning client project requests to department colleagues
• Adapt, coordinate and monitor associated project workload
• Display solid knowledge of marketing principles, ensuring they are always adaptable to a wide range of projects and in-line with clients’ core focus (key issues, competitive situation, industry trends, etc.)
• Monitor trends in digital marketing and social media and establish and maintain a multi-channel content strategy to promote awareness of Ometz, its services and annual fundraising activities
• Develop engaging content for digital channels, including: copywriting, graphics, photo and video
• Manage the editorial calendar for routine social media posts, campaigns, events, services and more
• Manage Ometz’s social media accounts, including curating relevant external content and moderating on line comments and messages on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, and others as relevant
• Develop and implement campaigns across multiple channels in support of brand and program objectives, including organic content, email, social, as well as paid initiatives on search, social, and influencer engagement
• Create monthly reports with actionable analysis and recommendations
• Attend events as needed and proactively leverage opportunities to create repurpose-able content

Education, Knowledge and Skills

• Bachelor Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or in a related field
• 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience in Marketing and Social Media
• Passion for digital marketing; strong awareness of emerging trends in communications
• Experience producing both planned and on-the-go content that can be strategically repurposed
• Experience using Hootsuite or similar social media management systems
• Experience working with influencers, as well as seeding in relevant online communities
• Bilingual in both official languages
• Knowledge of mass market social media channels
• Persuasive communication skills and excellent written skills; demonstrated success writing and editing digital marketing content
• Strong project management skills, including organization and attention to detail
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of Google Analytics an asset
• Familiarity with not-for-profit organizations, as well as knowledge of Montreal Jewish community an asset
