Journey of Hope 2025
Federation CJA is relaunching the Journey of Hope; an immersive educational program bringing students aged 18-22 to Poland and Israel at the beginning of June. The first part of this transformative trip explores what Jewish life was like in Europe before the war and the Holocaust. The trip then travels to Israel, where we will learn about the creation of the State and its modern-day realities. This trip promises to inspire pride, resilience and equip you with essential advocacy strategies to bring back to your campus.
- All participants are required to attend four mandatory pre-trip preparatory sessions
- Participating on JOH does not affect your Birthright eligibility
- Participants are each responsible to fundraise $360. These funds go directly towards ensuring all students and survivors can attend the trip.

FAQ
IS THERE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE? +
We understand that the Journey of Hope can be a cost prohibitive program and urge you to not let the cost of the program stop you from applying. Financial assistance is available to a wide range of family incomes.
- JCAP: Please ensure that you register for the trip prior to filling out the JCAP form.

IS THE TRIP NUT FREE? +
The Journey of Hope is not a nut-free trip, but it is nut-sensitive. We cannot guarantee that all meals served will be nut free, but JOH staff are always vigilant in ensuring the removal of nuts and food containing nuts. Students with severe allergies must always be cognizant of what they are eating.
HOW DO FRIEND REQUESTS WORK? +
Students can make up to 3 friend requests and are guaranteed 1 friend request on their bus. Friend requests are not considered in any particular order, so please ensure that you are comfortable writing someone’s name down with the chance of him/her being the sole friends on your bus.
HOW DOES ROOMING WORK? +
Occupancy ranges from 2-4 participants in a room for the duration of the program. While we cannot guarantee friend requests for rooming, we do take them into account. Each participant will always have their own bed.
CAN YOU TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE SECURITY ON THE TRIP? +
The safety and security of your children are always our trop priority. All travel decision made by Federation CJA is in cooperation with the Government of Israel, the Jewish Agency for Israel, the Security Desk of the Ministry of Education in Israel, security experts and authorities in Israel, as well as the Government of Poland. The group will be accompanied by Polish security in Poland and an Israeli security and medic in Israel at all times.
DO I NEED INSURANCE? +
It is mandatory for participants to have emergency hospital and medical insurance and that is valid in Poland and Israel for the duration of the trip. Participants will be required to submit proof of their plan and policy number. We strongly recommend and encourage individuals also purchase trip cancelation insurance.
