Philanthropy shapes future generations and is rooted in volunteering, social engagement and annual contributions. Sepharade Philanthropy embodies a set of values and attitudes that seek to improve the quality of life of the Jewish community long-term through the meaningful engagement of its leaders, volunteer initiatives, and ongoing mutual assistance.

VISION:  As part of Federation CJA, Sepharade Philanthropy helps build a united Jewish community in order to ensure a promising future for the generations of tomorrow.

OBJECTIVE:  Establish a culture of philanthropy within the Sephardic community, foster active and engaged leadership, and increase participation in the Sepharade Philanthropy Campaign.

La Grande Famille Philanthropique Sépharade

La Grande Famille Philanthropique SépharadeFamilies become part of La Grande Famille Philanthropique Sépharade when they choose to pool their members’ donations to contribute at least $18,000 to the Combined Jewish Appeal’s annual campaign. This distinction identifies and honours Montreal’s philanthropists who have a positive impact on the long-term wellbeing of the community.

In appreciation, and as a symbol of their affiliation with La Grande Famille Philanthropique Sépharade, families will receive “The Tree of Life” lapel pin at the annual gala, highlighting the level of their annual contribution to the Campaign.

Judaism places a great importance on LIFE. The word “CHAI-18” symbolizes the value of life and the hope it brings.
