Job Summary

As a member of the GenMTL management team, the Director of Young Adult Philanthropy is responsible to identify, cultivate and steward young leaders within Federation CJA and in support of the broader Jewish Community.

Duties

• Lead and oversee CJA campaign for donors age under 40
• Create and implement a strategic plan aimed at acquiring, engaging and developing new donors and young leaders of this age cohort in Federation CJA and within the broader Montreal Jewish Community. The plan will include leadership development, philanthropy, and volunteerism.
• Manage a team whose focus is to identify, cultivate, and steward young adult leaders of the 18-25 year old demographic, as well as the Jewish Chamber of Commerce.
• Network with various professions and demographics, offering them a broad range of, educational, philanthropic and leadership development opportunities
• Recruit and manage campaign volunteers, more specifically canvassers to solicit for our annual campaign
• Renewal, develop and implementation of The Echad Society, The Ben Gurion Society, National Cabinet and Young Lions divisions
• Create a recruitment, engagement and solicitation plan for community leaders, significant donors and volunteers
• Responsible for Donor Relations Management, including all steering/board members and face to face meetings/solicitations (also include Legacy conversations)
• Ensure open lines of communications between the FRD department and the Jewish Identity and Engagement Pillar
• Work closely with our marketing team to create content and strategic social media plan specific for this cohort as well as maintain a strong Federation CJA brand in all events and programs offered
• Input and update all relevant data into eDNA system (CRM system) all contact reports after visits, meetings
• Manage and oversee other responsibilities related to campaign events (phone solicitations, staffing events, budgets, minutes)

Education, Knowledge and Skills

• A University Degree in a relevant field
• A minimum of 5-7 years relevant experience, namely in fundraising/development, donor cultivation or sales
• Experience in Program Design, Implementation and Evaluation
• Excellent inter-personal skills and ability to work with Volunteers Leadership and Committees
• Strong communication, writing and presentation skills in English and French
• Understanding of fundraising principles and selling intangibles
• Strong leadership skills, ability to lead people and get results through others
• Ability to work within a team
• Strong organizational and strategic planning skill
• Knowledge of Montreal Jewish community, Judaism and Israel
• Commitment to Federation CJA values
• Knowledge of MS Office Suite.
