Job Summary

As a key member of the leadership team, you will manage JEM’s finance function, from fundraising and forecasting to day-to-day financial operations, contributing to the continued financial health of the company, allowing it to fulfill its mission of promoting disability employment and diversity in the workforce.

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage all financial operations, including accounting, treasury, working capital management, payroll, and financial reporting;
• Develop, implement and improve policies, process, procedures and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements;
• Prepare financial reports and forecasts for management and stakeholders;
• Conduct financial analysis, including variance analysis and trend analysis, to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities
• As a key member of the leadership team: work with peers, the Executive Director and the Treasurer of the Board to develop and manage the annual budget and long-term financial plans;
• Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and ensure adequate liquidity for day-to-day operations;
• Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities;
• Provide financial guidance and support to other departments, assisting them in achieving their financial goals;
• Stay informed about relevant financial and accounting regulations, trends, and best practices;
• Staff various committees related to finance, investments and audit, where relevant.

Education, Knowledge and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred;
• Bilingual: French and English;
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial management
• Strong understanding of social enterprises and a passion for promoting diversity and inclusion;
• Experience in a social enterprise or nonprofit organization
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and budgeting
• Highly proficient in financial software and CRM/ERP systems manage information and track data and results;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders;
• Ability to analyze financial data and make strategic decisions.
