The Ora Collective

A light for the collective good

What is the ORA Collective?

The Ora Collective is a new division of Federation CJA composed of women under the age of 45 who personally contribute between $1800 to $4,999 to the Combined Jewish Appeal® Annual Campaign.

In Hebrew, the word "אוֹרָה" (pronounced "Orah") means "light."

The women of Ora are on a mission to ignite the light. To champion social causes, to deepen community engagement, and to provide support for other women with the ultimate aim of illuminating the path toward a bright future for our Jewish community.

The Ora Collective highlights the strength and unity of women. We look forward to working together to build a brighter world, lit up by one act of kindness, one initiative, and one bright idea at a time.

The 4 pillars of the Ora Collective are:

  • Hands-on Volunteering - work alongside each other to do mitzvot such as packing backpacks, preparing and delivering meals, visiting the elderly, helping women with career opportunities and bettering their lives.
  • Local Impact Missions - provide the opportunity to see the direct impact of our collective donations such as Kehilla Subsidized Homes, JEM, L’Annex etc.
  • Ora Limud - attend and/or host parlour groups and discuss topics like postpartum mental health, financial and stock market literacy.
  • Ora Kesher- coming together as peers and professionals to share in business networking, participating in wellness activities and social events.

We thank you for taking the time to get to know Ora. This is just the beginning and we look forward to working together to be the light.
