The Mary Heimlich Cultural Endowment, Gluskin Sheff & Associates Inc., and JPL, in memory of George Aikins present Unchartered History: The Story of Leonard Cohen’s Journey in the Sinai During the Yom Kippur War Acclaimed author MATTI FRIEDMAN in conversation with Eddie Paul Who By Fire is a rarely told account of Leonard Cohen’s experience with Israeli soldiers during the Yom Kippur War. Matti Friedman, author of The Aleppo Codex, has a gift for storytelling and journalism, and shedding light on lesser known aspects of Jewish history. And this masterful and rewarding new work Matti Friedman explores the role of poetry and art in the face of extreme circumstances. Matti Friedman is an award-winning journalist and author. His work has appeared in the New York Times, The Atlantic, Tablet, Smithsonian, and elsewhere. Eddie Paul is Senior Director of Library and Learning Services.
