Important information about SSMU referendum

 
Federation CJA is aware of a highly contentious referendum question that is slated for vote by the Student Society of McGill University (SSMU). The question, a "Policy Against Genocide in Palestine", characterizes the Israel-Hamas War as a “genocide against Palestinians”, while failing to condemn the terrorist attack of October 7 and the rise in antisemitic violence and incidents at McGill, in Montreal and across the world.
 
It is feared that the proposed policy will impact the safety and well-being of Jewish students on campus and will contribute to an atmosphere in which Jewish students feel unsafe, unwelcome and even threatened on McGill’s campus.
 
Current McGill University students may vote on this referendum question until November 20 at 11:00. Please forward this important email to any McGill student.
