Teens experiences in Israel returning next summer

Montreal – December 1, 2023 – Amidst the challenging context of current events in Israel, Federation CJA looks forward with hope to relaunching its GOTEENISRAEL program for the upcoming summer. This initiative stands as a beacon of positivity, offering Jewish teens substantial financial assistance to choose and immerse themselves in a meaningful and enriching Israel experience.

“Like all of you, we carry a deep sense of sorrow for our brothers and sisters in Israel during these trying times and we remain vigilant in our monitoring of the ongoing war. With that, we remain hopeful about travel to Israel next summer,” said Yair Szlak, President and CEO of Federation CJA.
Federation CJA’s GOTEENISRAEL offers opportunities to strengthen connections to Israel and Jewish life. Montreal Jewish teens in grades 9, 10, or 11 are eligible for a $1,800 USD voucher for trips to Israel. Additional funding may be available.
An Israel summer experience for teens nurtures and strengthens a long-lasting connection and commitment to Israel and Jewish life. Federation CJA is committed to ensuring even more teens can experience our homeland firsthand, especially as we pray that the State will begin to recover, rebuild, and re-energize in 2024.
GOTEENISRAELhas partnered with ten organizations that provide the teen trips to Israel: BBYO, Camp B’nai Brith Montreal (CBB), Camp Kinneret-Biluim, CTeen, Diller Teen Fellows, Harry Bronfman Y Country Camp (YCC), Maccabi Montreal, Mach Hach Ba’Aretz, NCSY, and Yahad/CSUQ. Federation CJA maintains direct communication with these trip provider partners, and trip updates will be communicated as planning resumes and develops in the coming months.

“We are committed to dramatically increasing the number of teens in Grades 9, 10, and 11 who go to Israel. With the generous support of our visionary philanthropists, Federation CJA is making this possible,” Szlak said. “We believe that by investing in our teens today, we are investing in a strong and vibrant Jewish community for tomorrow. We know that now more than ever, teens need to connect with and go to Israel.”
