Montreal, April 4, 2024 – Sunday, April 7 marks the six-month mark since the October 7 massacre and abduction of our beloved brothers and sisters in Israel. Bring Them Home Montreal and Federation CJA invite you to join in honouring the hostages and supporting their families in demonstrating our unwavering commitment to their safe return.

The event will commence at 11:00 AM with a gathering at Hampstead Park, followed by a solemn walk to 1 Cummings Square, the Federation CJA building. Upon arrival, attendees will walk through an exhibition of the photos of all Israeli hostages, setting the tone for the heartfelt ceremony that will follow.

"As we gather to mark this painful milestone, let us not only remember the loss, but also recognize the resilience and hope that sustains us,” said Yair Szlak, President & CEO of Federation CJA. “Together, we stand as a beacon of strength for our abducted brothers and sisters and their families."

At 12:30 PM, the gathering commences at 1 Cummings Square (5151 Cote Sainte-Catherine Road). Speakers include bereaved mother Raquel Look whose son, Alexandre, was murdered by Hamas terrorists on October 7. Jonathan Elkouri, an LGBTQ+ Christian Lebanese refugee and Israel advocate will address the audience as well as testimony by Eric Hazan, cousin of hostage Omer Tov.

The commemorative ceremony will also feature a children’s choir from United Talmud Torah school as well as community leaders Steve Sebag, Yair Szlak and others, symbolizing our collective strength and unity.
There will also be filmed tributes and personal stories shared by the families of those abducted, providing a poignant reminder of the hostages continued captivity.
“It is not just a gathering; it’s a communal embrace to mourn the precious lives lost, and to shine a continued light on the 136 hostages who remain in captivity,” added Szlak.
Security measures will be in place at Cummings Square. Avoid bringing knapsacks or bags to expedite security check.
