Montreal – December 14, 2022 – Federation CJA recently held a Real Estate networking event in conjunction with Kehilla Montréal Residential Programs bringing together over 100 people in real estate and other sectors at the Gelber Conference Centre.

Kehilla is the communal response to the multitude of pressing housing needs of the members of the Jewish community. Their primary goal is to help better lives and build community through innovative, affordable housing projects by leveraging government funded programs and private partnerships.

“Federation CJA was pleased to partner with Kehilla to draw awareness and concern for the pressing needs of many members of our community,” said Yair Szlak, President and CEO of Federation CJA. “We are proud to act as a convener to unite those in the real estate sector who can be instrumental in our efforts to assist those in need of housing.”

“Kehilla is a non-profit organization focused on providing affordable housing and is actively in the market seeking out and evaluating apartment building acquisitions in the Cote Saint-Luc and surrounding areas”, said Avi Hasen, event co-chair.

Jason Martin, campaign chair of GenMtl had this to say: “Federation CJA has always been there to support the needy and vulnerable in our community.  In a time where housing costs have skyrocketed, the demand for affordable housing is at an all-time high.  Organizations like Kehilla, in conjunction with Federation CJA , are there to support such needs.” 

Special guest speaker, René Demers, left the audience engaged and inspired with his comprehensive presentation on real estate market trends and the buzz surrounding environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG). Demers is Senior Vice-President of Commercial and Private Banking at the National Bank, overseeing the real estate financing teams across Canada.

The event was co-chaired by Jonathan Sigler, Avi Hasen, and Erik Langburt.
