Federation CJA is seeking a dynamic and visionary individual to fill the role of Senior Engagement Manager within its Jewish Identity and Engagement Pillar. As the ideal candidate you are a natural relationship-builder with a passion for community engagement and a track record of successful leadership. You will report directly to the Chief Jewish Identity and Engagement Officer and be part of the senior management team of the Jewish Identity & Engagement Pillar.

Type of position: Regular full time

Job Description: As the Senior Engagement Manager, you are an incredibly charismatic engager who loves walking into a room with the purpose of meeting new people and building relationships. It excites you to support a team of engagement professionals and lay leaders to enhance Federation CJA’s engagement priorities. You love empowering teams of professionals whose mandate is to engage with different networks in our community and building programs and initiatives aimed at fostering a sense of belonging and participation within our Jewish Community and Federation CJA. Drawing upon your expertise in engagement and leadership, you'll serve as a driving force behind our various initiatives, weaving them into a cohesive tapestry of community involvement. You will also be responsible for identifying funding opportunities that are aligned with Federation CJA’s strategies for the under 40-year-old cohort.

Responsibilities for Senior Engagement Manager:

1. Collaborate closely with the Chief Identity & Engagement Officer and senior management team.
2. Lead and mentor a team of engagement professionals and lay leaders to enhance Federation CJA's engagement priorities.
3. Develop and implement strategies to engage diverse networks within the community, fostering a sense of belonging and participation.
4. Coordinate the creation and execution of programs and initiatives aimed at driving community involvement.
5. Cultivate partnerships with external organizations and stakeholders to amplify engagement efforts and maximize impact.
6. Ensure the successful delivery of engagement initiatives, overseeing project management and resource allocation.
7. Identify and pursue funding opportunities aligned with Federation CJA's strategies, with a focus on the under-40 demographic.
8. Analyze engagement metrics and feedback to continually refine and improve strategies and initiatives.
9. Serve as a spokesperson for Federation CJA in engagement-related matters, representing the organization at events and meetings.
10. Collaborate with other departments to integrate engagement efforts into broader organizational goals and initiatives.
11. Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in engagement and community building, applying relevant insights to enhance Federation CJA's approach.
12. Lead fundraising efforts for assigned programs and initatives.

Education, Knowledge and Skills


Key qualifications and attributes include:

1. Experience: 4-6 years of experience with a track-record of being a dynamic community engager.
2. Leadership: Proven experience leading teams in dynamic and collaborative environments. Able to inspire and motivate team members to achieve shared goals.
3. Engagement Expertise: A deep understanding of engagement principles and strategies, with a demonstrated ability to connect with diverse audiences and foster meaningful relationships.
4. Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic planning skills, with the ability to develop and implement innovative initiatives that advance organizational objectives.
5. Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with internal and external stakeholders. Able to build and maintain effective partnerships to drive engagement efforts.
6. Project Management: Proficiency in project management principles, with experience overseeing the execution of multiple initiatives simultaneously. Able to manage resources effectively to ensure successful project delivery.
7. Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively. Comfortable representing the organization in various settings and engaging with diverse audiences.
8. Flexibility: Adaptable and resourceful, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Able to effectively navigate ambiguity and drive results in changing circumstances.
