Job Summary

The Engagement Associate – Hillel Cegeps is responsible for inclusive community building with Cegep students in order to attract and encourage involvement in diverse community initiatives aiming to create meaningful connections and engagement to Judaism, Israel, FCJA and the Montreal Jewish Community. The Engagement Associate will act as a liaison, resource person, educator, program builder, and community connector. This person should be a self-starter, have an entrepreneurial spirit, be able to engage students and have a proactive mindset.

Traveling: 30-50%

Duties and Responsibilities

• Establish, develop, and cultivate relationships with at least 200 unique individuals via one-on-one coffee dates/conversations in your first year with a focus on CEGEP students
• Implement strategies to attract, recruit and engage participants
• Identify and engage potential volunteers and leaders and actively listen to serve as a connector and resource person for constituents – connecting them to meaningful opportunities within GenMTL and Jewish Identity Montreal (JIM) programs and the Montreal Jewish community
• Track participant relationships and involvement, including preparing analysis and reports
• Ensure a high level of customer service by responding in a timely manner to inquiries from multiple organizations, professionals and clients
• Develop, coordinate, and steward Hillel Student Club Leaders and Committees across Cegep campuses and support student-driven initiatives
• Provide necessary advocacy support to students by implementing strategies to combat antisemitism on campus, in collaboration with Federation CJA’s Director of Campus and Advocacy
• Coordinate various outreach events and work closely with JIM’s operations on all matters relating to logistics, data collection, and event planning
• Facilitate collaborations with other student groups or community partners that serve CEGEP students
• Collaborate with the Director of Hillel Montreal and Student Engagement to implement and manage the career mapping of student leaders within the overall JIM structure
• Liaise and work closely with other departments of Federation CJA, affiliated agencies and other communal organizations.
• Work with immediate supervisor and JIM Management Team to implement the annual Combined Jewish Appeal Campaign

Education, Knowledge and Skills

• A University Degree in a relevant field.
• Experience in program design, development and implementation
• Creative thinker and a self-starter who can work with minimum supervision or general guidance and instructions
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with other professionals, and volunteer committees
• Experience establishing, developing, and maintaining key relationships with students and multiple stakeholders
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills
• Must possess strong leadership skills and have the ability to lead people and get results
• Strong knowledge of Montreal Jewish Community and commitment to Federation CJA values
• Strong work ethic, organizational skills and ability to work in a multitasking environment.
• Knowledge of the MS Office suite
