When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit by Caroline Link (Germany, 2019)
An adaptation of the renowned British writer and jurist Judith Kerr’s awardwinning semi-autobiographical novel of the same name – this is the story about a young Jewish girl and her family's escape from the Nazis through Switzerland and Paris in 1933, before settling in England in 1936. It is a film about expulsion, anti-Semitism and xenophobia, telling the story through the perspective of a child, brilliantly acted by Riva Krymalowski.
Oscar-winning director Caroline Link (Nowhere in Africa) is one of Germany’s top talents, skilled at captivating audiences with powerful images and gripping stories.
