Sepharade Women's Campaign Chair, 2014-2015
1. How did you get involved with Federation CJA, and why?
My friends Arlène Abitan and Sylvie Alloune played a crucial role in this. Arlene got me involved in the Campaign during her presidency, and Sylvie convinced me to triple my donation when she came back from a mission in Israel. It was with great joy and enthusiasm that I began to volunteer with extraordinary women.
2. What is your fondest memory to date of your time working with Federation CJA?
My fondest memory is by far the year during which I was president. I'd like to thank Arlène and Claude Benaroche who convinced me to take the leap. With Stephen Bronfman and Daniel Assouline by my side, how could I not accomplish my mission? It was an exciting, rewarding and most importantly, very successful year. We managed to raise more funds than ever before and we did it all with a smile.
3. Can you recall a particular moment or event that impacted you profoundly?
The closing night of my presidency marked the peak of an exceptional campaign. The joy and pride we felt that night was unparalleled. People who were happy and grateful to be members of a generous community danced for hours to the music of a fantastic orchestra.
4. What advice would you give to the young women following in your philanthropic footsteps?
Don't hesitate, dive in, donate your time, money and support. It is very satisfying.. How can we not help the needy when we are able? How can we not enjoy serving food to those who can only say thank you with a beautiful smile? How can we not like being part of a group of women, each nicer than the last, in pursuit of the same goal of offering love and help to others?
5. What is your legacy?
The legacy of the gift of self. I'd like to pass on to the next generation my love for philanthropy. You have everything to gain and nothing to lose.
