I always did try to set an example for others about commitment to community service, and especially to inspire the young to take up where we left off and provide new and renewed leadership to meet the difficult challenges that lay ahead.

I would hope that today’s volunteer has a strong sense of purpose and a deep appreciation for community service. Together, they can enjoy the benefits personally from a rich and meaningful collaboration with members of the community who share the same values and goals. What will follow is a strong commitment to the betterment and enrichment of the Jewish community. And in this way strive to ensure, through community service, the future and survival of our community and its institutions for future generations as a vibrant and nurturing environment.
