Job Summary

The Philanthropy Advisor plans, promotes and coordinates networking events and business programs for professionals and entrepreneurs for the purpose of providing a networking forum and creating business opportunities, enhancing the development of Jewish leaders as well as increasing revenues of the annual campaign.

Duties

• Plan, organize and handle networking and business programs, together with lay leadership, that are likely to promote business exchanges and opportunities for professionals and entrepreneurs.
• Work closely with the Strategic Marketing and Communication Department to create all event-related communication material (graphics, website, scripts, etc)
• Coordinate relevant committee meetings and ensure proper follow-up, including student interns and fellowships in conjunction with the (17-24) cohort.
• Recruit and develop relationships with JCC members in an attempt to educate them on Federation CJA and the importance of philanthropy.
• Cultivate relationships and partnerships with other chambers of commerce for the purpose of providing greater networking and business opportunities.
• Manage assigned budget, including events and special initiatives

Education, Knowledge and Skills

• A University Degree in a relevant field.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role, with a proven track-record for network and business development
• Experience in program design and event planning is an asset
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with Lay Leadership committees, with a donor-focus
• Demonstrated ability to develop strong partnerships and client relationships
• Outstanding communication, writing and presentation skills, in both English and French
• Understanding of fundraising principles and selling intangibles
• Excellent leadership skills, ability to lead people and get results through others
• Excellent knowledge of Montreal Jewish Community and commitment to Federation CJA values
• Strong work ethics, including developed skills for organization, strategic thinking and ability to work in a multitasking environment.
• Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Suite
