Job Summary

The Director is responsible for the overall development, implementation and management of Youth and Family engagement as well as the creation of new initiatives for the Sylvan Adams YM-YWHA and the Ben Weider Jewish Community Centre (JCC) branch in Montreal. This includes community outreach, the implementation of strategic objectives and operational plans and the management of related material, financial and human resources.

Duties

- Develop, manage and review current offering of youth, family and special needs programs and identify opportunities for improvement of services and revenue opportunities.
- Initiate, develop and oversee implementation of current and new dynamic leadership programs and initiatives that seek to attract, retain and strengthen youth engagement.
- Develop programs and services that enhance Jewish culture and education.
- Ensure the delivery of programs and services is at the highest standards of quality.
- Manage, train, and evaluate assigned team of professionals; drive them to achieve established goals and objectives.
- Manage assigned budget as well as any grant applications and reporting.
- Partner with colleagues and other members of the management team to create synergies and enhancements across all available programs.
- Work closely with the Director of YCC to promote collaboration and crossover of youth and teen programs, including YCC Tikvah Special Needs Family Camp.
- Work closely with Marketing to increase promotion and participation of programs.
- Liaise with and manage appropriate lay leader committees.
- Liaise and collaborate with Federation CJA on relevant committees and shared programs.
- Create, implement, and oversee formal impact evaluation processes in collaboration with consultants and Federation CJA.

Education, Knowledge and Skills

- University degree in business administration, social work, Jewish communal leadership, or a related field.
- 5 -8 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably developing and managing youth and special needs programs.
- Ability to diagnose complex issues and recommend effective solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish, develop and maintain key relationships.
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to influence, lead and get results through others.
- Financial and business acumen with a strong ability to manage and administer budgets.
- Strong work ethic, including organizational skills and strategic thinking in a multitasking environment.
- Knowledge of Montreal Jewish Community and Jewish experiential education.
- Outstanding communication, writing and presentation skills, in both English and French
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
