“It’s a privilege for me to volunteer for a program for kids and teens with disabilities. My buddy Brittany and I cook and do karate together, and we have really bonded.

The joy that rushes through me when I see the smile on her face is a feeling that everyone should have the chance to experience. We are all a part of this community, and I am happy there is a place for everyone.”

“Every Wednesday after school, I get to see Naomi and all of my other friends. We hug each other and everyone is always smiling. I feel safe, welcome, and happy!”

Thanks to your support, Federation CJA funds dozens of programs that enable 950+ individuals with disabilities to participate in Jewish communal life.

“Rain or shine, I can count on being welcomed by friends at our weekly get-togethers. I enjoy eating lunch together and doing activities like Bingo – especially when I win a prize! It’s nice to know that people care about me.” – Sylvia

“It makes me happy to spend time with friends, enjoy a meal together, have good conversation, and even tell a few jokes. A smile can go a long way to making someone feel like they belong!” – Billy

Last year, we provided over 400 individuals with ongoing mental health challenges the opportunity to increase social interaction, break away from isolation, and stabilize their health, reducing setbacks and hospitalization.

"My daughter Leah is eight years old. For the past three years, she has participated in special family programming for her global developmental delay, which includes physical activities in the gym and the pool. Her balance, coordination, and gross motor skills have improved a lot, and over time, she has learned to walk!

As a family, we appreciate the respite and the joy that can be seen on Leah's face as she participates in activities that are adapted to meet her needs. Knowing that we have the support of the community gives me great peace of mind."

Thanks to your support, Federation CJA funds dozens of programs that enable 950+ individuals with disabilities to participate in Jewish communal life.

“I have faced many barriers in my life, including finding and being able to keep a job. I was on welfare until I started to work in a sheltered workshop here in Montreal. That was 16 years ago. Working here has given me self-confidence, many friendships, and the ability to live on my own as I earn a steady salary. I am a productive part of society, and now know the feeling of success.”

Federation CJA funds 23 different programs to ensure that individuals with disabilities can participate actively in community life.
