Green Space in Côte-St-Luc Dedicated in Memory of Alexandre Look

The city of Côte-St-Luc honoured Alexandre Look’s heroism and compassion towards others as they unveiled Alexandre Look Place. The green space, located between Bialik High School (where Alex went to school) and Beth Chabad of Côte-St-Luc (where Alex regularly attended synagogue services) at the end of Kildare Road, is dedicated in memory of Alex as well as all other victims of the October 7th terrorist attacks in Israel.

The bravery Alex demonstrated on that fateful day as he sacrificed his own life for those of others was celebrated by his mother Raquel, Federation CJA President & CEO Yair Szlak, Côte-St-Luc Mayor Mitchell Brownstein, MNA for D’Arcy McGee Elisabeth Prass, Congregation Beth Israel Beth Aaron’s Rabbi Reuben Poupko, and the Consul General of Israel Paul Hirschson.

Hillel Welcomes Students Back to Campus

Every student received their very own welcome kit to campus and experienced our pet therapy wellness room. These grants aim to foster Jewish pride, connection to the community, and a strong bond with Israel on campus. Open to Jewish student groups and campus professionals across Quebec, grants of up to $5,000 for student-led initiatives and up to $25,000 for professionally supported projects are available. The application deadline is Sunday, September 15, 2024, for programs running from October 2024 to May 2025.

Supporting Your Children in Non-Jewish Day Schools | Tuesday September 24, 2024
