A Milestone Meeting with President Isaac Herzog: Federation CJA's Yom Ha’atzmaut Mission
This Thursday morning, our Yom Ha’atzmaut solidarity mission began with a significant event as 45 dedicated members of our community met with Israeli President Isaac Herzog at his residence. President Herzog addressed the critical issue of mental health challenges and PTSD implications amidst ongoing conflicts, explicitly thanking the Montreal Jewish community for our pivotal role in supporting these vital initiatives in Israel.
Our conversation with President Herzog underscored the importance of our contributions, exemplified by the successful Lahav Farm project in Be'er Sheva. Funded by generous donations to Federation CJA's Israel Emergency Fund, over $250,000 was allocated to develop this sanctuary, providing a space of solace and empowerment for survivors. Lahav Farm stands as a testament to the healing power of global community support and our unwavering commitment to aid those in need.
Thursday’s landmark meeting in Israel not only highlighted the critical needs but also celebrated the impactful support provided by our Montreal community. Together, we are building bridges of hope and resilience, reinforcing our strong bonds with our brothers and sisters in Israel.
