Federation CJA has been awarded a US$750,000 LiveSecure grant issued by the Jewish Federations of North America. The grant, the first-of-its-kind conferred to a Canadian federation, cements our place as a leader on matters of Jewish community security in North America. Our commitment to preserving our community’s values and traditions and safeguarding Jewish life will grow significantly thanks to this grant as we hire new staff and train even more volunteers to join our renowned Community Security Network.

CIJA Unveils New Resource to Combat Antisemitism in Schools
In a press conference this past week, Eta Yudin, Vice-President CIJA and Mr. Christopher Skeete, Minister for the Economy and Minister Responsible for the Fight Against Racism unveiled Unlearn It, a ground-breaking educational resource to support parents and educators in teaching youth how to identify, unlearn, and stand against antisemitism now available in Quebec. The development of the Unlearn It program for Quebec was funded in part by the Quebec Ministry of Education.

Statement on Kosher Slaughter in Canada: Canadian Jewish Community Determined to Protect Charter Rights Against CFIA Infringement
In response to CFIA's unjustified imposition of conditions on shechita, the Canadian Jewish community is seeking court relief to ensure access to kosher meat. MK Global Kosher Certification Agency (MK), the Kashruth Council of Canada (COR), and the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) have joined forces with various Jewish community stakeholders to seek an interlocutory injunction.
