Job Summary

Duties and Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the professional team to identify staffing needs and develop and implement inclusive recruitment strategies to attract suitable candidates to join JEM.
• Lead the development of a new HR department and supervise a team responsible for supporting JEM employees living with diverse abilities.
• Create and implement integrated orientation and onboarding programs.
• Work closely with employees, staff, and relevant partners to identify and implement necessary workplace accommodations for employees with disabilities.
• Manage cases related to workplace accidents, compensation programs, and performance evaluations.
• Liaise with government agencies to ensure compliance with JEM’s contractual obligations to financial and strategic partners.
• Ensure adherence to federal, provincial and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
• Foster a work environment that promotes inclusion and accessibility.
• Oversee payroll processing, including tracking payroll and leave balances, and assist employees in monitoring their balances as needed.
• Take responsibility for salary equity reporting.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure the accuracy and compliance of HR data.

Education, Knowledge and Skills

• You are a member of the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés (CRHA)
• University degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least two years of experience as an HR manager.
• Ten years of overall experience in the HR field.
• In-depth knowledge of HR regulations, provincial labor laws, and best practices.
• Professional knowledge and experience with HR systems.
• Proactivity and innovation in implementing new systems and processes.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team and manage complex situations with tact and diplomacy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with or a strong interest in adaptive and inclusive practices for people with disabilities.
