Job Summary


ProMontreal Entrepreneurs (PME) is a mentor-driven accelerator that helps early-stage businesses. Our mandate is to help entrepreneurs build and strengthen their business roots in Montreal. The ProMontreal Entrepreneurs (PME) program offers a number of distinct services to support entrepreneurs. We offer business plan feedback and guidance, a network of mentors and investors, guidance, and referrals on accessing alternative funding sources.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our team as an Entrepreneurship Counsellor. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in supporting aspiring entrepreneurs in realizing their business ideas and achieving their entrepreneurial goals. Reporting to the Manager of Entrepreneurship, you will be responsible for providing guidance, resources, and mentorship to help entrepreneurs develop viable business plans, connect with mentors, and navigate the complexities of starting and growing a business.

Duties and Responsibilities


• Meet with entrepreneurs on a regular basis to discuss their business ideas, assess their needs, and provide personalized guidance and support.
• Assist entrepreneurs with their business projects by listening, asking questions, and providing guidance. You need to know how to challenge them!
• Prepare and analyze financial forecasts.
• Guide companies through the start-up process and help entrepreneurs develop business plans.
• Connect entrepreneurs with relevant resources to meet their needs.
• Contribute to the development of entrepreneurs' entrepreneurial skills.
• Manage the mentorship program, including recruitment, training, and support for mentors in their roles as advisors to entrepreneurs.
• Assist entrepreneurs in developing comprehensive business plans by providing a structured outline, reviewing their progress, and offering constructive feedback for improvement.
• Organize and oversee special events such as the entrepreneurship week.
• Manage and curate content for the program's blog, sharing success stories, entrepreneurial insights, and valuable resources for the startup community.
• All other related tasks.

Education, Knowledge and Skills


• University degree in business administration, entrepreneurship, finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience
• Strong knowledge of business planning, financial analysis, and market research techniques.
• Outstanding communication and relationship-building abilities.
• Practical experience in the field of entrepreneurship.
• Demonstrated experience in group facilitation and training.
• Familiar with new collaborative technologies and office automation tools, including MS Office Suite (Word, Advanced Excel, Outlook), Teams, and SharePoint.
• Excellent teamwork skills and adaptability to change.
• Capability to synthesize data, initiative, organization, and planning skills.
• Capability to work under pressure, managing multiple deadlines and demands concurrently.
• Energetic, outgoing, independent, methodical, rigorous, and meticulous.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and superior oral and written communication abilities
• Strong sense of customer service.
• Strong business acumen.
• Familiarity with the Montreal entrepreneurial ecosystem and local community resources is an asset.
