Job Summary

The Educational Consultant works within the Education Department to offer support and consulting to Jewish day schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting data-driven educational practices in the classroom and working with school-based consultants, teachers of K to Sec V and special education coordinators within a Response to Intervention approach.

Duties and Responsibilities


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Collaborating with academic and student support services leadership on planning and implementation of appropriate instructional and intervention practices for students at different tiers within an RtI framework.
• Providing professional development for teachers and academic support staff on assessment and identification of students’ skills and needs.
• Advising school staff in best practices related to monitoring student growth to ensure academic progress.
• Following up with administrators, teachers and academic support staff regarding analysis of student results on periodic assessments.
• Researching best practices and providing workshops and training on assessment tools, program curricula and intervention programs.

Education, Knowledge and Skills

• Master’s degree in education or related field
• 3 years of experience (or equivalent) in a school or school board setting
• Computer skills: Office 365, and other relevant software
• Strong and dynamic presentation skills, with ability to engage participants
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience with evaluation tools an asset
• Flexibility and initiative are essential
• Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
• Bilingual: oral and written
• Travelling to various schools is required in this position
