PJ Library sends free, award-winning books that celebrate Jewish values and culture to families with children from birth through 8 years old.
In Montreal, PJ Library sends books to 3,500 children every month, with over 200,000 books delivered since 2008, to children in diverse segments of the Jewish community, including secular, multi-faith and Russian families. This incredible initiative is a program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, made possible through a local partnership with Federation CJA, Generations Fund and its generous donors. It is funded locally by the Marlene and Joel King Family Foundation and a program in memory of Helen and Sam Steinberg and a program in memory of Abraham Ulaine.

In addition to the gift of age-appropriate Jewish-themed children’s books every month, PJ Library Montreal offers high quality, meaningful and fun programming throughout Montreal. Last year, PJ Library Montreal events included:

Over 40 events where hosted in collaboration with community partners, from synagogues and daycares to community centres, libraries, theatres, and municipalities
- Community-wide events:
Programming at large scale community events such as Yom Yerushalayim and Federation’s GenMTL “Friday Night Lights” Shabbat
- PJ Library Connectors:
