Agence Ometz: Centennial Subsidies for Newcomers
Newcomers to Montreal will receive subsidies to facilitate their participation in Jewish communal life at Centennial events in 2017.
Akiva School: Centennial Mitzvah Day
Parents will lead a school day dedicated to fulfilling mitzvoth in celebration of Federation CJA’s Centennial.

Azrieli Schools Talmud Torah/Herzliah: Jewish History Day & Walking Tour
Talmud Torah students from grades 5-6 and Herzliah High School students from grades 7-10 will participate in a series of walking tours of Jewish Montreal, exploring the themes of immigration, and cultural and religious continuity.
Bronfman Jewish Education Centre: Chagall Exhibit Teacher Training
Jewish day school educators will be trained to prepare their students for participation in Federation CJA’s Centennial partnership with the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts for the Chagall: Colour and Music exhibit. Teacher training will ensure that students can appreciate this internationally renowned artist, whose Jewish culture and traditions are proudly integrated into his art. Training will also include a focus on Federation CJA’s impact on the evolution of the Jewish community and, in particular, on students and education.
Chabad South Shore: “Tree Full of Mitzvoth” Student Theatre
South Shore Hebrew School students will perform a theatrical presentation as a dedication to 100 years of Federation CJA. Performance for family members and community, followed by additional presentations in seniors residences and community centres.

Chabad Université de Montréal: 52 Weeks of Shabbat Dinners
Weekly "Shabbat Federation CJA Centennial" dinners at Chabad de l'Université de Montréal. Dinners will feature select speakers to address participants every week and welcome and inspire the crowd, made up of local and international students, as well as local residents.

CIJA & CJPAC: Student Advocacy Experience in Quebec City
Grade 11 students from Jewish day schools will participate in a trip to Quebec City aimed at bringing them closer to the Quebec political process. Students will emerge better prepared for their lives on CEGEP and University campuses, be better advocates for Israel, be more equipped to discuss complex issues related to advocacy, and be more politically engaged.
CPE Hebrew Academy: 100 Ways of Tzedakah
The entire school community will create and participate in a tzedakah program celebrating Federation CJA’s role in the life of the Jewish community.

Donald Berman Chai Lifeline Canada: Parents’ Date Night
100 parents of children with terminal illnesses will celebrate Federation CJA’s Centennial thanks to this collaboration between community organizations and participating local Kosher restaurants. While parents enjoy a night of respite, their children will be cared for by experienced Chai Lifeline volunteers.

Hebrew Academy School: 50/50: Federation CJA at 100 & Hebrew Academy at 50
The entire school community will engage in various projects marking the 100th anniversary of Federation CJA and the 50th anniversary of Hebrew Academy School. From high school students to students in younger grades, everyone will be actively involved in marking these two important milestones.
Hebrew Foundation School: “Leading the Way Through Federation CJA” Film
Students in kindergarten through grade 6 will create a documentary exploring Federation CJA over the past 100 years and its significant impact on the Montreal Jewish community and beyond. The community at large will be invited to view the completed work in a picnic-style event in the schoolyard.
Jewish Farmers of Canada: Retrospective on Jewish Farming
An educational exhibition will be created, highlighting the important contributions of Jewish farming communities throughout Quebec.
JPPS/Bialik: Fall Play – Centennial Tribute
The annual fall play will be performed for the community at large, written in part as a tribute to – and recognition of – the Federation Centennial. A cocktail reception will follow the performance.

Lord Reading Law Society: Annual Human Rights Conference
As part of the annual speaker series, a day of the conference will be planned in collaboration with Federation CJA on a Jewish theme in recognition of the Centennial year.
Maccabi Canada: Centennial Sports Days
Together with alumni and current Canadian professional athletes, students in each Jewish day school will benefit from a day of active fun while learning about the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle.
Montreal Breslev Centre: Montreal Mega Sukkah Party
A celebration of 100 Years of Sukkot in Montreal will be held for the community at large, incorporating photographs of Sukkot celebrations that have occurred over the past 100 years in Montreal.

Museum of Jewish Montreal: New Walking Tour: Sephardic History
A new walking tour will be created honouring Sephardic and North African heritage, in partnership with Federation CJA. The experience will be available to the public as well as to specific groups from Federation CJA throughout the Centennial year.

A traditional community-wide Mimouna celebration will be held following the Passover holiday, in celebration of Federation CJA’s Centennial.

Rohr Chabad of NDG & Loyola Campus: Tikun Olam Society
A Jewish ‘society’ will be created to help humanitarian causes in NDG. Throughout the year, volunteers will distribute care packages, gifts and challahs to local Jewish residents, recognizing the support of Federation CJA. A celebratory launch event will also take place.
Russian Jewish Partnership: Russian Jewish Showcase
Young adults and young families in the Russian Jewish community will participate in hands-on volunteer opportunities, experience events that promote community engagement and philanthropy, and engage in an evening of arts and culture.
Russian Jewish Community Center: Centennial Klezmer Youth String Orchestra
A Centennial Klezmer Youth String Orchestra will be created, made up predominantly of Russian youth who will perform Jewish music (such as Klezmer, Yiddish-traditional, Ladino, and Israeli contemporary music) for various audiences throughout the year. The project will also include a contest for a Federation CJA anthem, with lyrics in multiple languages.
Segal Centre for Performing Arts: “When Memories Have Us” – Holocaust Survivor Testimonials
A lasting performance piece will be developed, using previously gathered testimonies from Holocaust survivors, all of whom who were part of the March of the Living trip in 2016.

Segal Centre for Performing Arts and The Dora Wasserman Yiddish Theatre: Century Songbook: Celebrating our Musical History
A multilingual concert and dance performance will be created (in English, French, Hebrew, Yiddish, Spanish, Russian and Ladino) to celebrate Federation CJA's Centennial.
Solomon Schecter Academy: S.S.A. Pays it Forward
Students will participate in “100 days of paying it forward” activities and experiences which also highlight how Federation CJA has supported our community. Federation CJA’s impact will also be communicated at weekly school assemblies.
Yéchiva Yavné: Centennial Recognition
Yidlife Crisis: Global Shtetl Montreal: 100 Years of Yidlife Docuseries
A comprehensive feature-length series of documentary videos will be created, encapsulating the history of Jewish Montreal and Federation CJA through 100 years from 1917 to the present. The videos will incorporate historical information and archives, presenting them through the animated lens of YidLife Crisis’ Global Shtetl English-language travelogue format.
