WHEN BLOOD RAN RED By Ben Gonshor Directed by Luciana Burcheri When Blood Ran Red tells the story of a dramatic and poignant moment in twentieth century history when the great African-American actor, singer, civil rights activist, Paul Robeson, befriends some leading Soviet Jews during WWII. Sadly, when the war ends and the allies become enemies during the Cold War, these friendships lead to dire consequences. Some of the characters are inspired by the true life Russian Jewish writers and artists. Part of the Dora Wasserman Yiddish Theatre's inaugural NEW JEWISH SCENE Program
