In celebration of JDAIM, Federation CJA in collaboration with Summit School are proud to present a special remount of Summit School Performing Arts original play Letter to my Disability with 3 community shows at the Segal Centre for Performing Arts. Synopsis: What does it mean to have a disability? What does it mean to be different? Letter to My Disability, follows the journey of Ellie, a teen girl, who finds out on her own that she has a developmental disability. Afraid, confused and desperate, she struggles to reconcile who she is and who she thought she was. Her teacher, new to the school, begins an ambitious and controversial project to try and put words to these feelings. Letter to My Disability, is an emotional, uplifting and perspective-changing play that challenges all of us to begin speaking openly, honestly and without shame about the issues surrounding developmental disabilities.
