Description:

Why do we use a pointer when we read from the Torah, instead of just our pointer finger? And why does so much artistry go into decorating the Torah? This lecture will focus on the yad, the pointer which is used when reading from the Torah scroll. We will learn from the pointers, and other Torah ornaments, in the Aron Museum's magnificent collection.
