The movie LEAVING THE FOLD tells the story of five individuals who were born and grew up in an ultra-orthodox Jewish milieu, and who wish to emancipate themselves from it. The film shows their transition from a tightly controlled society to a confusing secular universe where choices are Infinity: What clothes should I wear? What will I become? Who will I marry? In their home environment, everything was decided in their place. Now they have to make their own decisions. But the choices are not always easy. Film presented by Frédéric Bohbot, Producer of the film. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with Eric R. Scott, director of the film, Dr. Steve Lapidus, lecturer at Concordia University, Department of Religion and Cultures, and Dr. Valentina Gaddi, PhD student in Sociology, Université de Montréal.
