Babi Yar is memory. Memory of World War II, its victims and its inhumanity. In just two nights and two days, September 29-30, 1941, in a ravine called Babi Yar, the Nazis killed about 34 000 people - old ones as well as children. They were shot for only one reason - for being Jews. From 1941 to the end of 1942, about 200 thousand people of various nationalities were shot in Babi Yar. Babi Yar is a symbol of mourning. It is also a warning to the whole humankind. The truth about this crime must be brought home to each and every person.
