Raffle Draw in Support of the Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation. Feeding the Newborns The neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) provides high-quality intensive care 24/7 to newborn patients requiring admission to the hospital or born at the MUHC. The NICU has 52 individual rooms, making it the largest inpatient unit in the hospital. There are approximately 1000 new admissions each year. The MUHC is currently seeking donor support to ensure that each room has a dedicated breast pump so that mothers will not have to share them. The “Symphony” hospital grade model allows for more milk to be extracted in less time. They are quiet, easy to clean and allows mothers to adjust the intensity of suction and number of cycles required to express milk. |
