Before you attend Waiting for the Barbarians, come take part in an intimate evening with this Montreal theatre legend in the Studio. The veteran actor will read the Yiddish classic Bontshe Shvayg (Bontshe the Silent) by Yiddish poet I.L. Peretz, also leading a post-reading discussion. Many may be surprised to learn that Mr. Podbrey speaks and reads Yiddish. Bontshe Shvayg is one of his favourite stories. The evening will begin with a lecture on Peretz with Anna Fishman Gonshor of McGill University’s Jewish Studies Department.
