The Cummings Centre presents Amsterdam: City of Tolerance, guided by Mark Law, who after moving to Amsterdam from South Africa, was smitten with the opportunity to share his love of Amsterdam and began a fledgling company, That Dam Guide, to accommodate private and small tours. This virtual tour explores Amsterdam’s old town of bikes, canals, and coffee shops, explaining why it is tolerance for oft-shunned groups that is a hallmark of the Dutch. Whether they be Protestants, Jews, prostitutes or drug dealers and drug users, all, first merely tolerated, were eventually permitted to legally endure in The Netherlands. This event will be held on October 27th, 2021, from 11am – 12pm. Cost is $10 for members and $15 for guests. To register, visit cummingscentre.org/registration or call 514.343.3510.
