Explore the fascinating history of Jewish burial and cemeteries, and how they have influenced Jewish community and thought throughout the ages.  Through a multimedia presentation of slides and videos, we will look at the artistry and symbolism of gravestones, look at the story of European cemeteries both before and after the Holocaust, and learn the basic skills and codes to “decipher” the writing on gravestones.  Rabbi Boris will also share his personal experiences exploring abandoned gravesites in Poland and Lithuania.
