In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Federation CJA and the Jewish Community Foundation (JCF) have launched an emergency fund to support our most at-risk community members, with all money raised going to the agencies and community partners who are on the frontlines of this crisis.

Monday night's online commemoration from the MHM (an affiliated agency of Federation CJA) highlighted the 75th anniversary of liberation and the end of the Holocaust and demonstrated the entire Jewish community's solidarity with Holocaust survivors; the moving ceremony includes remarks from Federation CJA's President, Gail Adelson-Marcovitz, and a short video message from the MOL 2020 cohort who would have marched this year in Poland and Israel.

We are proud to share that with funds raised through the Community Crisis Response Fund, and the support of over 250 dedicated volunteers, Federation CJA and the Jewish Community Foundation (JCF) have already been able to provide crucial relief to the most vulnerable members of our community including:

  • $1.1 M given to over 40 community partners to provide immediate relief to the most vulnerable, in partnership with the JCF.
  • 8,000 people provided with basic necessities including groceries and kosher meals.
  • 16,000+ calls made to community members (AGE 60+) to ensure their well-being, including 5,500 individuals who have been called at least 3 times and matched with a volunteer "buddy".
