Former justice minister Irwin Cotler named Canada's envoy for Holocaust remembrance, fight against antisemitism
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced the appointment Wednesday, saying in a statement that the Holocaust was one of the darkest chapters in history and seventy-five years after the liberation of Nazi concentration camps, Jewish communities in Canada and abroad face rising antisemitism.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has planned groundbreaking trip to Bahrain next month

Federation CJA is committed to ensuring that no child will need to leave the Jewish day school system because of temporary loss of family income due to the COVID-19 pandemic. All 5,451 students enrolled in our 13 Jewish day school systems benefitted from $2,400,000, allocated on a per capita basis, to help offset additional expenses the schools incurred this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, including additional emergency tuition relief, increased costs of PPE and online learning as well as the loss of fundraising revenue.
