Former Senator Leo Kolber, a pillar of business and politics, dies
The Honourable Leo Kolber passed away on Wednesday night, just shy of his 91st birthday; the Officer of the Order of Canada was associated, in a volunteer capacity and as a benefactor, with a myriad of social, cultural and health-care organizations and causes, including holding leadership positions for Federation CJA's Combined Jewish Appeal.

Sunday's rally was organized in response to a spate of attacks on Jews — including, most recently, a stabbing attack at a rabbi's home in the New York City suburb of Monsey and a shooting in a Jersey City kosher supermarket that claimed four lives.

Over our 360 holiday break, TOV volunteers brightened Chanukah for members of our community by preparing holiday meals for families in need at Chodesh TOV and Cooking for a Cause West Island, and hosting a Chanukah party for veterans at St. Anne's Veteran's Hospital, where students from Hebrew Foundation School sang songs and spent quality time with the seniors.
