CDN-NDG honours centenary of Yiddish theatre icon Dora Wasserman
Members of Montreal's Jewish community gathered on Sunday morning to watch the unveiling of a trilingual memorial plaque dedicated to Juif d’ici Wasserman, who was the founding artistic director of the Dora Wasserman Yiddish Theatre more than 60 years ago, and is widely credited as a driving force for the preservation of Yiddish language and culture here.
