Federation CJA – in partnership with the Jewish Community Foundation of Montreal- offers tax wise ways to ensure the strength and continuity of our Jewish community. Through planned giving programs such as PACE (perpetual annual campaign endowment) and LOJE (Lion of Judah Endowment) donors can endow their annual CJA gift and create an everlasting legacy for the community they were responsible for building by helping Federation CJA meet the challenges of the future.

Demographic realities - that Montreal’s Jewish population is both aging and getting smaller - indicate that the annual Combined Jewish Appeal will eventually lack sufficient resources to meet all the demands of the Jewish community. Once the donor base diminishes, we will no longer be able to sustain the level of service required by those in need here and abroad. The future of Jewish life in Montreal could well continue to depend on those who have made it what it is today.

Funds contributed –either through a will bequest or a lifetime gift- are managed by the JCF and added to the permanent capital fund. Annual proceeds from the fund that is created in the donor’s name, are used to sustain the programs needed to ensure that services will be available to help the most vulnerable, to provide for Jewish continuity, to fight antisemitism, and to support Israel in accordance with both foreseen and foreseeable needs.
