Job Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director, the candidate is a visionary leader mandated to move the Alumni and Outreach department at the Bronfman Israel Experience Centre to a new level of professional excellence. In an attempt to ultimately keep youth engaged in the Jewish community, the Director plans, coordinates and oversees all related programming and initiatives as well as builds and strengthens relationships with new and current networking circles.

Duties

The Director will supervise, mentor and administrate a programming team and create a strategic plan for engaging young adults in exciting and innovative programming and events. With a passion for Israel and Judaism, the Director will inspire their staff and participants through commitment and dedication to continuity and the “Jewish Journey”. This visionary leader will spend the majority of his or her time supervising the staff and strategically building partnerships and serving as a communal liaison.

Education, Knowledge and Skills

The ideal candidate holds an undergraduate degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of management experience in a non-profit organization. Highly motivated, organized and known for its excellent interpersonal and networking skills, the candidate is able to take directions from superiors and delegate tasks. The Director must be able to manage a team of professionals as well as multiple projects and work effectively within the team structure at BIEC. With a proven Connector-Engaging personality and top-notch social skills, the incumbent has a strong understanding of social trends of university population and young adults, is known to be very resource savvy with a broad professional and social network, a strategic community organizer and is a role model of an authentic Jewish personality. The candidate must have excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and possesses outstanding communication skills (written and verbal) in both English and French.

Notes

This position in based on a 2 years contract and requires great flexibility from the incumbent as participation to Staff Missions, conferences and retreats are necessary to professional development and attendance to programs and events including weekends, evenings and some Jewish Holidays are required.
