Hillel Montréal provides a central address and a strong, visible presence for Jewish students on university and CEGEP campuses in and around Montreal. Hillel promotes Jewish identity by offering a wide array of cultural, social, recreational and religious programs targeted to student needs. Its Centre Hillel and Hillel House provide a welcoming environment in which students can socialize. The Ghetto Shul, with which it is affiliated, provides a unique model for spiritual worship that regularly attracts hundreds of individuals. As an agency, Hillel strives to develop leadership among youth in the Jewish community, while forging connections between visiting students and the local Jewish community. Hillel’s programs preserve and enhance Jewish identification among the thousands of Jewish students spread across a dozen campuses.
