Camp B’nai Brith’s mission is to provide a positive and meaningful summer camp experience to the most vulnerable individuals in our community; the poor, the elderly, new immigrants and those with special needs. As well, CBB hopes to provide these groups the opportunity to develop an understanding and appreciation of our wonderful heritage, helping them establish their own roots in Judaism.
In 2006, registration consisted of 913 campers (an increase of 71 campers from the previous year), which included 42 special needs youngsters and 20 Israeli Victims of War campers. In addition, CBB opened its doors second session to 50 grade nine students from the community school trips - Dorot and Hebrew Academy - whose Israel trip was shortened due to events in the Middle East. Together they formed a new camper section known as Chalutzim. CBB also welcomed 363 senior citizens over the course of the summer. In total, CBB serviced 1326 people while employing 225 staff members.
