Heather Paperman

As the current Chair of Connections for Women's Philanthropy and Co-Chair of the Lion of Judah Bien Manger project, Heather Paperman is deeply committed to every aspect of volunteerism within Federation CJA. Her education in social work at McGill University and a career in marketing and sales provided many tools for community involvement. Her family background provided the foundation for a deep commitment to the Jewish community.

She is the Immediate Past President and one of the founding Co-Chairs of the Pomegranate Society and a past Co-Chair of Night of 100 Dinners and the Lion of Judah Appreciation Event. She is an active, hands-on volunteer taking part in the many TOV (Tikun Olam Volunteers) programs that she oversees and is also a canvasser for the Combined Jewish Appeal Campaign.

Heather’s involvement extends beyond Federation CJA. She has been on the Board of Directors of the Jewish General Hospital Foundation since 2009 and co-chaired their Doctors' Gala in November of 2010. She is a committee member for the Weekend to End Women’s Cancers and the 2011 Hope and Cope Soirée Fantastique. She was a member of the Sisterhood Board of Congregation Shaar Hashomayim Synagogue, as well as a past Chair of their Table Settings event. She is currently involved in planning their anniversary concert for November 2011. Heather is also actively involved in the Israel Cancer Research Fund, of which she was Past President. She is involved in many of their projects including the golf tournament, annual gala and the ICRF/Pink Lady Women of Action event.

Heather credits her family for their ongoing support. Her husband Joseph and children Bram, Evan, Jason and Stephanie have all demonstrated involvement in various organizations. Jason is currently the Co-Chair of the 2011 YAD FedNext Campaign, following in the footsteps of both of his brothers. Both Joseph and Heather are proud to see that their children are continuing their belief in actively helping to maintain and strengthen our Montreal Jewish community.
